I kept on seeing this beautiful flower on Instagram. Hannah Ng is one of the artists that folded this flower, and she even has a video where she shares how to glue to modules together.
Those 5 petal flowers were part of my Christmas window decoration project. As I like to have my windows decorated every time the season comes. Or just a bit earlier if I’m being honest.
I will soon post about that as well, so you can see how they looked and with what other models were combined.
Below you will see how I folded the modules.
5 Petal Flowers - Step By Step Photos:
Step 1: Start with a square piece of paper and folded in half.
Step 2: Unfold and fold the other half.
Step 3: While the paper is still folded in half, with the opening upward, fold the left corner of the paper to the center. (see the third image for reference)
Step 4: Unfold the last fold, and then fold the left corner of the paper to the fold you previously made. (see the fourth image)
Step 5: Remake the fold you did in step 3.
Step 6: Turn the paper over, and fold, the now, right corner of the paper to the center. You should fold the same half, just on the other side.
Step 7: Unfold, and fold the right corner to the previous fold you made.
Step 8: Just remake the fold you did in step 6.
Step 9: Fold the left corner upwards. (see the image for referance)
Step 10: Unfold, turn the paper over, and refold on the other side as well, so you have a nice crease made.
Step 11: This is just a bit more complicated. But don’t worry, those 5 petal flowers are still easy to fold. So just unfold the last fold. While holding the right side of the paper together, push it upwards. The fold should reverse and you should end up with 3 peaks.
Step 12: Now, take one of the peaks you just created in the step before, and folded downwards, so the peak will end up on the left bottom corner.
Step 13: Repeat the same fold for the other peak, but on the other side.
Step 14: You can arrange the module, as you see in the image.
You now have one complete module for those 5 petal flowers. And as the name suggested it, you need 4 more.
In order to assemble it you need to apply glue.
I also made a short video to show you how to fold the module and how to assemble it with glue.
You have to be careful to not put too much glue, or on the wrong side. I did both of those mistakes in my video 😂
