I don’t usually create decorations for Halloween, even though there are some amazing models out there that deserve a try.
This year I decided to give another try to this model I saved to my Instagram profile a long long time ago.
There are instructions on how to fold this origami jack o’ lantern modular, but last time I did not got the proportions right.
This time, the first I folded still had the body bigger than the model folded by the author, so for the video, I decided to make the body smaller and it looks so much better.
Another huge difference, is the fact that mine will not hold it’s own weight.
I wonder if it is because of the paper, maybe it should be cardboard? Or maybe the lip has a different paper size that the one I use?
I also used way more glue and a lot of tape….and I don’t think that @craft_team_bigheads used any tape for this model.
How to Fold This Origami Jack O’ Lantern Modular
First I want to mention again, that there are photo instructions on his profile. I will give a link to each and every one.
I decided to make video instructions, because I really like this model and I don’t want to forget how I folded it.
You will also see that I am quite clumsy when it comes to folding and recording in the same time, but I think it’s an ok quality to understand what I am doing there.
You will also see that I recorded the video in portrait mode. This was intentional, as I thought I will upload them on Pinterest. But the size it’s way to big for Pinterest, so YouTube it is.

I am sorry for the light on the lip video. I was recording in front of the window with the drapes closed and then I did open one of the drapes when I realized it got quite dark on the video.
